Important guidelines: It is not proper to postpone any foreign language course as it is a completely new kind of course. When you defer a foreign language course, it is as good as a failure and you must ensure that you spend a minimum of 3 hours weekly and 15 minutes on a daily basis for this. While it is not necessary to put in more than 45 minutes per session, use all the extra time that you get.

Segregate your study into several mini sessions. Class Attendance is mandatory and necessary in order to pass the course particularly if you are serious about learning the language. You could review your previous learning like the vocabulary - this would stand in good stead. Below are some suggestions to make the different parts of learning a foreign language easier and more successful.
Find the meaning of only such words whose meanings can not be gauged even with the reference to the context. Make it a routine to browse through the chapters of the textbook everyday.
Start expressing: Do not feel shy of mistakes, simply listen to others and start to communicate yourself. You can have a good practice of the foreign language if you speak out loudly to yourself, to others in the same class or with your dog or cat at home.
Noting it down: Know how to express yourself in writing everyday till it comes a part of you.
Try having a friend dictate some of the language to you while you write it down and then check what you have written for accuracy.
Miscellany: Study the foreign language with a positive frame of mind, have pre-set objectives and goals. Know the learning objectives and also how to achieve those goals.
1.If you need help get it and do not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help for fear of sounding stupid, or being embarrassed.
